I’ve been lurking math blogs this summer, and yesterday I saw I Speak Math’s post about samjshaw‘s new site http://mathtwitterblogosphere.weebly.com/.   I guess it worked.

As I am once again starting fresh at a new school, this time I’m going to try to keep track of what works and what doesn’t work, so next year maybe I won’t feel like a newbie again.  For example, last year I was known for having well-behaved classes who were usually on task.  In fact, I’ve been late to class (because I lost my copies and had to make more… working on organization this year!) and walked in to find the class had settled themselves in and was hard at work.  Sweet!  Unfortunately, I’m not really sure how I got them to that point.  And that is stressing me out, especially as I am moving from a private school with smaller class sizes to a public school.

Also, I want to join the #made4math fun!

Welcome! Glad you jumped in. 🙂

    • Thanks! I’ve been following your blog for a while now. I actually went to Target to get the bins you posted about here 🙂 I’m using them to put handouts in for students to pick up as they enter class. I have 4 preps, so color-coding is a must, and these bins were perfect.

Welcome to blogging! I know it is hard not to be nervous, but I am sure that you will be great! It takes a very special teacher to have kids that start working when you are late for class, even at a private school. I would love to know how you did that. 🙂
